Preserving a Cultural Icon

I created the first official website for one of Manchester's most influential cultural brands.

What I Did

I led the digital brand

I designed the first official Hacienda website, bringing together its history, archive and global events. I also created social assets, maintained the website, monitored analytics and helped ensure visual consistency across the brand.

Historical Research

I immersed myself in the club’s history, visual language and cultural significance before designing.

Archive Planning

I organised decades of material so visitors could explore the story without becoming overwhelmed.

UX Design

I structured journeys around history, archive content and current events for different audiences.

UI Design

I balanced iconic heritage cues with a contemporary interface suited to an active global brand.

Website Build

I turned the approved experience into the first official digital home for The Haçienda.

Analytics

I used performance data to understand how audiences engaged with content after launch.

Social Content

I created ongoing digital assets that extended the visual identity beyond the website.

Brand Governance

I kept new content visually consistent while respecting the established Haçienda legacy.

The Situation

I worked with The Hacienda as it needed its first official digital home: a website capable of celebrating its history, organising an extensive archive and supporting an ongoing programme of global events.

The Results

I launched the first official Hacienda website and created a digital home for one of Manchester's most iconic cultural brands.
